DeadSEXY! Cosmetics is the brainchild of professional Makeup Artist Thea Mitchell. A self-proclaimed "makeup junkie", Thea's career has spanned more than a decade in the entertainment industry. Her roster of celebrity clients have included legendary divas like Gloria Gaynor to present day songstresses Jill Scott, Amerie and Macy Gray.

In 1999, a passion for makeup,combined with a successful freelance career helped plant the seed for Thea to bring cosmetics to her clients in a fresh, new way .The plan was not to just develop a line, but to educate women on knowing the difference between "a color I like" vs. " a color I like which compliments me". Hence was the start of SIS cosmetics which evolved into deadSEXY! Cosmetics in 2007.  The array of products has been purposely kept concise as the company holds the belief that women can achieve their ulitmate makeup look with a few key choices.

When asked what fuels her vision, Thea replied, " Shades that work, and information that empowers. I want to help enable women to make confident decisions when choosing their products. Makeup should be fun 'n frivolous, yet it can be frustrating when the majority of mainstream cosmetic lines cater to women whose complexions aren't dark. At deadSEXY! we celebrate the diversity of women of color. As both a black woman and a makeup artist, if I don't come correct, my integrity's on the line..."
